Obituary of Shirley Anne Wilson

The unexpected passing of Shirley Wilson, wife of Ralph Wilson, of Lorneville occurred at her winter home in Winter Haven, FL on Friday, February 5, 2010. She was born on January 2, 1935 in Lorneville to the late Robert and Beulah (Galbraith) Splane. Shirley worked keeping the books for her husband's company, Wilson Trucking. In earlier years, she worked for the Saint John School Board. She was a member of the Lorneville United Church and Lorneville Women's LOL. Her hobbies included Swedish Weaving and Gardening. She and Ralph loved to summer at Island View Campground, Bayside, NB. Besides her husband Ralph, Shirley is survived by daughter, Sharon Alexander (Stephen) of Lorneville; son, James Wilson (Brenda) of Ballie, NB; brother, Robert Splane of Saint John; sisters-in-law: Joan Galbraith of Saint John and Bessie Splane of Lorneville; six grandchildren: Jason Wilson (Rachel), Joel Wilson (Tanya), Skyler Wilson (Christa), Adam Atcheson (Jill), Mark Atcheson (Heather) and Matthew Atcheson (Laura); two step-grandchildren: Jason Hays (Becky) and Christina Drake (Will); 16 great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her parents and brother, John. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11 AM. Interment will take place in Lorneville Sea View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lorneville United Church would be appreciated by the family.
