David Martin

Obituary of David Geoffrey Martin

With broken hearts, the family of David G. Martin, announce his unexpected passing on Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on July 21, 1941 in Essex, England to the late Morris and Eileen (Hunt) Martin. David eventually became a Canadian Citizen but never forgot his roots or love for England and visited often. David is survived by his daughter, Lisa Crimmins (Cameron) of Fredericton; son, Geoffrey Martin (Alitzia) of Toronto, ON; their mother Maureen Martin (Mike Gallery); adored baby granddaughters, Gabrielle and Kate Crimmins as well as his beloved dogs: Moose, Bailey and Spock (predeceased). David was also survived by many friends and family in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. David was an Engineer (Tool and Dye Maker) and Draftsman. He had many close friends at C.F.M. Fleetway, where he worked until his retirement. David loved to travel; he was an avid historian and military buff. He loved antiquing and yard saleing, always looking for that little treasure. Known for his magnifying glass and typical dry British sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by many on both sides of the "pond". Perhaps most importantly he was the most wonderful father in the world. David's family invite all who knew him to Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) to a celebration of his life on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 12 noon. For those who wish remembrances to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
