Obituary of Gordon Fraser Richards

After a brief illness Gordon Fraser Richards passed away peacefully on December 12, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth Annie (Pickett) Richards of Oak Point, NB. Born on December 23, 1918, he was the son of the late B. Dufferin and E. Winnifred (Seely) Richards. Gordon was a retired farmer and woodlot owner who was born on and lived his life on the homestead at Central Greenwich. He was a life long member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Oak Point. Gordon was also a member of Scouts Canada, the Greenwich Recreation Association and Greenwich Gems. Survived by his wife, four children, J. Anne Byers of Central Greenwich; William (Barbara Cooper) Richards of Fredericton, NB; Evelyn (Gerald Bance) Richards of Fredericton and Charles (Sue) Richards of Lincoln, NB; nine grandchildren, Edward Bacon, Charles Bacon, Clark Richards, Elizabeth Richards, Theresa Richards, Bradford Richards, Joseph Richards, Sarah McLean and Joshua Richards; five step-grandchildren, David and Peter Bance, Philip, Daryl and Ben Cooper; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two cousins. Predeceased by two brothers, George and Charles Richards; one sister Jean Richards. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd, (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 11.00 am from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Oak Point. Interment in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery.
