Obituary of Wilma McGinnis

The peaceful passing of Wilma McGinnis of Saint John occurred on July 11, 2009, at the Saint John Regional Hospital at age 76. She was born on September 20, 1932, in Wallace Station, Nova Scotia, the younger daughter of William and Ida Angevine. Wilma trained as a legal secretary and worked in Halifax. After marrying her husband, James McGinnis, she moved to Saint John where they had five children. Wilma worked in the accounting department of the K-Mart for many years before she retired after the passing of her husband. She was an avid bowler and together with her second husband, Bill Price, was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels. Wilma was a devoted grandmother and was adored by her family. Wilma is survived by her daughter Donna Robichaud (John), sons Pat (Sharon), Jamie (Shannon), Mike (Lynn), eight grandchildren, William, Gillian, Frances, Erin, Rebecca, Kerry, Sean and Benjamin and one sister, Doris Churchill (George). Wilma was predeceased by her parents, her husbands, James McGinnis and Bill Price, and her daughter, Kathy McGinnis. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 1 pm. Following the service, a reception at the Bay View Reception Centre. A private interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the superb care they gave to our mother.
