Obituary of Willard Sans Grant

Willard S. Grant of Lorneville, husband of Dorothy A. (Ewart) (Mabee) Grant, passed away on Sunday, May 03, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Canterbury on January 20, 1929, he was a son of the late Edward and Hazel (Ingram) Grant. Willard was formerly employed with Simpson Construction as a crane operator, and enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening. In addition to his wife, Willard is survived by his children, Marilyn Delisle of Toronto, Debbie Grant of Toronto, David Grant of Saint John, Timothy Grant of Saint John, Sandy Meehan of Saint John, and Starr Boyd (Bud) of Saint John; stepchildren Freeman Mabee (Debbie) of Welsford, Leatha Howe (Randy) of Lorneville, Blake Mabee of Lorneville; step-daughter-in-law Sharon Mabee of Lorneville; grandchildren Errol, Christopher, Stefan, Alexander, Jessica, Josh, Wes, Paul, Jamie, Amanda, Samantha, Korey, and Trent; great grandchildren Angelus, Adrian, Jacob, and Ava; sisters Ruth Hanson of New Denmark, Evelyn Masters (John) of Saint John, Betty Arsenault (Larry) of Rothesay, Nadine Thomas (Frank) of Gagetown, and Geraldine Small (Glen) of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Willard was predeceased by a step-son Keith Mabee; a brother, Ray Grant; and a sister, Elva Sheehan. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM from the Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place later at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
