Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Richards

Mary Elizabeth Richards of Carleton Kirk Place, Saint John, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on July 1, 1927, she was a daughter of the late James Stephen and Rose Golden (Richardson) Richards. Mary worked at the Lantic Sugar Refinery, and attended both Hillcrest Baptist Church and Carleton Kirk United Church. She was active with the Salvation Army at one time as well, and when she was able, she volunteered at the Carleton Kirk Lodge. Mary is survived by three sisters, Ella May Park of Saint John, Constance Campbell of Saint John, and June Moore of the USA; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by siblings James Stephen Richards, Violet Ebbett, Zeversa Richards and Ronald Richards. Although there will be no public visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 2:00 PM from Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425). Interment will take place at a later date in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
