Obituary of Lester Parlee Wilson

After a courageous battle with cancer the passing of Lester Parlee Wilson of Saint John, NB, husband of Susan (Barton) Wilson, occurred on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex, NB on February 28, 1943, he was a son of the late Harvey and Mabel (Parlee) Wilson. Prior to his retirement in 2003 he had been employed with NB Power at Point Lepreau. Lester was a member of St. Mark's United Church, Carleton Curling Club, Welsford Golf Club, NB Power 25 Year Club and Grand Lake Snow Cruisers. He enjoyed curling, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, gardening and canoeing. Besides his loving wife Susan, Lester is survived by a son, Bradley (Petra) Wilson of Ajax, ON; a daughter, Karen (Jimmy) McAllister of Saint John; two sisters, Edith Holtz of Edmonton, AB and Lois (Bert) Roberts of Lanigan, SK; a brother, Arthur (Donna) Wilson of Roachville, NB; two grandchildren, Maddox and Mallory McAllister and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm . The funeral service will be held from St. Mark's United Church, 50 Dexter Drive on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the charity of the donor's choice.
