Obituary of Vera Irene Murphy

Vera Irene Murphy of Saint John passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Vera was born in Halifax County, Nova Scotia in 1919, and moved to Saint John several years ago to be with her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Ervin and Emily (Boutilier) Winters, as well as her husband, Vincent Murphy. Vera is survived by her only daughter, Lillian Whittaker (Stephen); grandchildren Daniel Melanson, Christopher Melanson (Lisa), Susan Lorber (Mike), Kathryn Melanson (Brian), Amy Daigle (Gilles), Anastasia Whittaker (Thomas), and Amanda Whittaker (Rick); great grandchildren Teegan, Marissa, Sarah, Liam, and Meaghan Melanson and Madison Whittaker. In keeping with Vera's wishes, no formal funeral services will be observed. For those who wish, remembrances to the Animal Rescue League or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425).
