Obituary of L. Edward Livingston

L. Edward (Eddie) Livingston of Welsford, husband of the late Olive G. (Burton) Livingston, passed away on Thursday, March 06, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on March 3, 1915, he was a son of the late Lee and Ada (Foster) Livingston. Eddie's working career began at the young age of seven, when he walked to work at a local farm. Throughout his life, Eddie was no stranger to hard work, whether on a farm or in the woods working with a team. His proudest accomplishment was becoming a grader operator for the Department of Transportation. Eddie also enjoyed woodworking and horses; and watching wrestling was a great passion as well. Eddie is survived by a son, Kevin Livingston (Lori) of Welsford; daughters Darlene Adams of Welsford, Kathleen Bond (Terry) of Welsford, and Tina Livingston of Saint John; a brother, Jim Lindsay (Estelle) of Ontario; a sister, Mildred Petty (George) of Ontario; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Eddie was predeceased by a son-in-law, David Adams; brothers Cecil and Fred Livingston; and by a sister, Vera Drummond. Although there will be no visitiation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM from the Anglican Parish Centre (Anglican Parish of the Nerepis and St. John), Grand Bay-Westfield. The Venerable Vicars Hodge will be officiating, with interment at a later date in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Building Fund of the Church of the Ressurection would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West. www.bayviewfh.com
