Obituary of M. Jean MacLeod

MacLeod, M. Jean – The death of Martha Jean MacLeod, wife of the late Donald Roderick MacLeod, occurred peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the home of her daughter in Bayswater, NB. Born on January 7, 1920 in Summerland, BC, she was the daughter of the late Ezra (Ace) and Ellen (Nellie) (Chappell) Kercher. She was a long standing member of St. Columba Presbyterian Church and until her health failed was very active in the ladies group. She was a wonderful mother and friend who will be sadly missed by all who loved her. She is survived by one daughter, Christy Belyea of Bayswater; one son, Donald McLeod (Shelley) of Yoho; one sister, Naomi McEwen of Summerland, BC; sister-in-law, Margaret Mode of Vankleek Hill, ON; brother-in-law, Dr. Jack McMartin (Verena) of Montreal, PQ; four grandchildren: Rod Belyea (Lori) and Andrew Belyea (Patricia) of Saint John, Emily McLeod (Kevin) and Patrick McLeod of Fredericton; one great-grandson, Matthew Stears; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Rod (2005); sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Robert McLachlan; sisters-in-law: Hilda McMartin, Alexina Wilson and Katherine MacLennan and brothers-in-law: Ken Blagborne, Alec McEwen, Dr. Ian MacLennan, Sydney Mode and Arthur Wilson. By request there will not be any visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held from St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Manawagonish Road on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at 11 am. A private family interment will follow. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
