Obituary of Margaret Kathleen Garey

GAREY, MARGARET "MARG" K.- The death of Margaret "Marg" Kathleen Garey, formerly of Manawagonish Road, Saint John, wife of the late J. Walter Garey, occurred on Monday, June 18th, 2007 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Stanley, NB on May 25, 1912, she was the daughter of the late James and Katherine (Hogan) McGowan. Marg was a Registered Nurse for 25 years. She was head nurse in pediatrics at Saint Joseph's hospital at the time of her retirement. She was a devoted mother and a long time member of Saint Rose of Lima Church. She is survived by three sons Kenneth (Alison) of Sussex, Lawrence (Doris) and Patrick (Mary McElwaine-Garey), both of Saint John; one daughter Marg (Joseph MacQueen) of Burlington, ON; one sister Mary McGowan of Fredericton; eight grandchildren Diane, Kevin, Cathy (Finlay), Jeffrey, Erin, Maura, Martha and Matthew, three great granddaughters; Olivia, Bridget and Grabrielle; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four bothers, James, Harry, Jack, and Warren McGowan and one sister, Gertrude McGowan. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Wednesday (7-9 pm) and Thursday (2-4 pm, 7-9 pm). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Milford Road, Saint John West on Friday, June 22nd at 10:30 am. Internment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Sand Cove Road.
