Obituary of Eldon Lawrence Palmer

PALMER, ELDON L.- The death of Eldon Lawrence Palmer of Grand Bay-Westfield, husband of 58 years to Mildred (Thomson) Palmer, occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Central Hampstead, NB on December 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Arlie and Gertrude (Parker) Palmer. Eldon was a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years and had been employed with Dexter Construction and later Keel Construction until his retirement and was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Eldon was truly an inspiration to his family. His kindness, family values and sense of humor remained present to the end. Eldon will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Mildred, his daughter, Joyce Brown (Donnie) and son, Stephen Palmer (Lisa), five grandchildren, Heather Brown (Ian MacLennan), Stacey Brown, Drew, Amy and Lindsay Palmer. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Interment in the Central Hampstead Cemetery. Remembrances to the Animal Rescue League would be appreciated.
