Obituary of Eric George Chapman

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of George Chapman. George passed away at the QE11 Hospital in Halifax on Sunday, April 6th, 2007 after a period of failing health. He is survived by the love of his life Linda (Moore) Chapman, and his three precious children, Eric George (Sharon), Laurie (Jeff) Earle, and Wendy (Elwood) Gallant, also his three precious granddaughters, Madison, Hailey, and Katelynn. George also leaves behind his parents Eric George and Florence Chapman, five brothers, Wayne (Dianne), Richard (Bernice), Michael (Mary Anne), Timothy (Pauline), and Kevin (Lori) Chapman and his three sisters, Debra (Robert) Parke, Brenda Chapman, and Kathryn Taylor. George was employed for over 40 years at Ocean Steele in Saint John but had to retire due to ill health. He and Linda had always wanted to have a quiet little piece of paradise and found it in Norton. There they set up the little hobby farm that they were both so passionate about. Animal lovers from the day they met they have close to sixty of love. He was a country boy at heart and the enjoyment that he got out of it is beyond words. He also loved to fish and hunt but most of their time was with their kids and grandkids and the pets. He was our gentle giant and big brother and will be sadly miss by all that knew him. Resting at Brenans Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007, at 1:00 pm from Bay View Chapel. Following cremation interment will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, Woodman's Point. Remembrances made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, the Animal Rescue League or a charity of the donor's choice.
