Obituary of Vincent J. Richards

The death of Vincent John Richards of Ocean Westway, husband of Edna (Garey) Richards, occurred on Wednesday, October 25, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he is the son of the late Edward and Gertrude (Bernard) Richards. Vincent was employed with Climo Richards Studios and NB publishing as a Photo Engraver until his retirement. He had served in WWII overseas in the Army, a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, R.C.L. Branch # 69 and was an avid harness racing fan. Besides his wife he is survived by one son Paul (Catherine) Richards of Vancouver, three daughters Barbara (Ron) Jones of Calgary, Elizabeth (Betty) (Peter) Griffith and Patricia (Patti) (Michael) Brennan both of Saint John, one sister Mary Richards of Saint John, seven grandchildren Andrew (Lorna), Gordon, Catherine, Richard, Kelly, Katie, Amy, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by four brothers Bertrum, Joseph, Alvin, James and one sister Irene. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home 1461 Manawagonish Road (506-634-7425) with visiting on Friday, October 24, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2003 from St. Rose of Lima Church at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be a R.C.L. tribute service on Friday, October 24, 2003 at 7:00 pm. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
