Obituary of Hazel Leona London

The death of Hazel Leona London of Saint John, wife of the late Walter R. London, occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Little Lepreau, NB, she was the daughter of the late Everett Clifton and Erma Ann (Tinker) Lomax. Hazel worked with children at the Protestant Orphanage for several years before going to work as a caretaker of Turnbull Nursing Home for 19 years before her retirement. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing TV Bingo, having tea with friends and spending time with her cat "Homer". She will be sadly missed. She is survived by four sons, Robin M. Mitchell (Pam) of Back Bay, Robert Q. Mitchell (Linda) of Little Lepreau, Rodman D. Mitchell (Anne-Marie) of Saint John and Ralston M. Mitchell (Deanna) of Musquash, 13 grandchildren, Colin, Shiann, Cory, Robert, Jewel, Jody, Tanya, Crystal, Lisa, Natalie, Peter, Leah and Drake, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great friends, Sonny and Jane Buyers and Rosemary and Ethen. She was predeceased by brothers, Louis, Austin and Earl Lomax and sisters, Stella Hope and Hilda Townsend. By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at the Little Lepreau Cemetery on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Ben Warner officiating. Remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
