Obituary of Logan F. Adshade

The death of Mr. Logan Faulkner Adshade of Saint John West, NB, loving husband for 59 years of Eva (LeBlanc) Adshade, occurred on Thursday, August 03, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on a small farm in Oxford, Nova Scotia, the youngest child of the 10 children of George Washington and Margaret (Faulkner) Adshade. He married Eva, a beautiful nursing student and they had 59 years of love and five children. Logan was a veteran of World War II. He worked for Dexter Construction as a crane operator for twenty years and then at Irving Paper as a foreman until retirement. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish. Logan and Eva had many worldly travels together. He loved his family, his dogs, music, his tractor, fishing, hunting and Red Skelton. His kindness, genuine charm, and fine wit will be remembered by many. Dad, we all live through you and you remain in our hearts forever. Along with his wife, Eva, he is survived by: two sons, Gary (Terry) Adshade of Victoria, BC and Glenn (Brenda) Adshade of Rothesay, NB; three daughters, Debbie Adshade (Larry Belyea) of Kingston, NB, Holly Adshade of Toronto, ON, and Diane Adshade-Geary (John Geary) of Saint John, NB; a brother, Llewellyn Adshade of Saint John, NB; two sisters, Thelma Moore and Kathleen McCarthy, both of Nova Scotia; nine grandchildren, Kim, Jazmine, Crystal, Tara, Matthew, Coralee, Jaime, Haley and Joey, great-grandchildren, Lauren and Jordan, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Carl, Fernie and Gordon and sisters, Ada, Flora and Viola. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, NB (506-634-7425) where visitation will take place on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Animal Rescue League or a charity of the donor's choice. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
