Obituary of Roy Gordon Higgins

The death of Roy Gordon Higgins, husband of Lois C. (Laskey) Higgins, occurred on July 14, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Royden H. and Ethel (McGaghey) Higgins. He had been employed with General Dairies and retired from Irving Oil Ltd. He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Robert of Nerepis, daughters Lynda Medford (Douglas) of Dartmouth, NS, Pamela Higgins (Ken) of Nerepis, Judith Higgins (David) of Saint John, Nancy Higgins (Brian) of Nerepis, Donna Higgins (Larry) of Saint John, Debbie Higgins (Juan) of Saint John, his grandchildren, Emily Medford, Kristina Higgins, Chad Saunders, Alycia Collins, Selena, Cory Saunders, Michael Higgins, Kyle Hamilton, Jonathan Higgins, great-grandchild Mackenzie Medford, his brother Rueben Woods (Diane) of Saint John, sister Anne Walker (Paul) of Hampton, special cousins Jerry and Donnie, special friends Chantal and Leo Chaisson and several cousins, nieces and nephews. His sister Nancy Higgins predeceased him. At the family's request cremation will take place at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), with no visiting or funeral service. In lieu of flowers remembrances made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
