Obituary of Douglas Patrick MUZZERALL

The death of Douglas Patrick Muzzerall of Saint John, NB, husband of Margaret (Ollington) Muzzerall, occurred on Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Chatham Head, NB on July 28, 1921, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Malley) Muzzerall. Doug was a veteran of World War II having served as a gunner in the 28/89 Field Battery RCA in England, Italy and South Africa; later he was employed at the DVA Hospital and the Saint John General Hospital. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons: Patrick (Rose Marie) Muzzerall of Bonnyville, AB and Douglas F. (Kathy) Muzzerall of Bridgewater, NS; two daughters: Pamela (Patrick) Ferris of Grand Bay/Westfield, NB and Debra (Gary) Weatherhead of Saint John; two brothers: Leslie of Saint John and Cecil (Theresa) of Clarendon, NB; one sister, Florence Briggs of Ontario; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a daughter, Joan May Arnem; four brothers: Earl, Weldon, Harrison and Archie; four sisters: Blanche, Regina, Amanda and Muriel. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, Manawagonish Rd., Saint John (506) 634-7425 with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm; a Knights of Columbus Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening and a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute on Wednesday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Matthew's Church on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 12 noon with interment following in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. Matthew's Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
