Obituary of E. Diane Denton

The death of E. Diane Denton, wife of Walter Denton, occurred on February 17, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ina (Sinton) Wharton. She was employed as a Hairdresser for 43 years and most of that time she owned her own salon. She enjoyed cooking and tole painting. Besides her husband she is survived by twin-daughters Jacqueline (Jackie) Garner and Jennifer (Jenny) Bateman and her husband Patrick, all of Saint John, daughters Suzanne Sharpe of Grand Bay-Westfield, Angela (Angie) Moriarity and her husband Cecil of Saint John, brother Ronnie Wharton and his wife Betty of Saint John, twin sisters Sheila Knudson and Gloria Clark, sister Shirley McManus and her husband Barry, all of Saint John, sister Carol Logan of Saint John, and Barbara Stein and her companion Eric O'Neill of Grand Manan, four grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her pups Whiskey and Brandy. She was predeceased by her 1st husband Berton Sharpe and brother Billy Wharton. Following cremation the family will have visiting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at 2:00 pm, at Bay View Chapel. Remembrances made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the Cancer Unit would be appreciated by the family.
