Obituary of Walter R. London

Surrounded by his loving family, Walter R. London, husband of Hazel (Lomax) London, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit on August 24, 2005, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Saint John, NB on April 19, 1931, he was a son of the late Hugh and Marietta London. Walter worked as a Longshoreman for many years, then was employed at Moosehead Breweries for 29 years. Besides his wife Hazel, he is survived by four step-sons: Robin Mitchell (Pam), Teddy Mitchell (Linda), Roddy Mitchell (Ann-Marie) and Peter Mitchell (Deanna); two sons: Brian London and Paul London; one daughter: Alyson Harrity (John); one sister: Vera Donaldson (Art), fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Walter was also a beloved grampy to Homer, their cat. He will be sadly missed by his good friends: Steve Green and Sonny & Jane (Crow) Byers. Walter was predeceased by four sisters. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). Visiting will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2005 from Brenan's Bay View Chapel at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Little Lepreau Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
