Obituary of Mary Josephine Walsh

The death of Mary Josephine (Bardsley) Walsh, in her 97th year, formerly of Bardsley Ave., Saint John West, wife of the late William L. Walsh, occurred on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Loch Lomond Villa Inc. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (McLaughlin) Bardsley. Mary was employed as a school teacher in Bayside, NB, Winter St. and St. Patrick's Schools. She graduated from UNB, Charlotte Co. Grammar School in St. Andrews and from the Provincial Normal School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, their women's society and former choir member, Retired Teachers Association and Senior's Club. Mary is survived by one son, William (Judith) of Kennebecasis Park; two daughters: Rosemary (Leslie) Terry of Saint John West, Margaret (Pierre) Maltais of Ottawa, ON; seven grandchildren: Joseph Hatfield, Pierre Maltais Jr., Melissa Savoie, William Walsh Jr., John Maltais, Nicholas Walsh and Elizabeth Maltais, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one son, Joseph and one brother Frederick Bardsley. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7425) with visiting on Sunday and Monday, May 8 & 9, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
