Obituary of Allan Robertson Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allan Robertson Thompson announces his passing, which occurred on Monday, January 11, 2021, at his home. Born in Bermuda, he was a son of the late Allan and Margaret (Robertson) Thompson.

Allan was the manager at G.R. Patstone. He was a volunteer with the Westfield Volunteer Fire Dept. and Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Branch 22 Legion. He coached Westfield Little League Baseball as well as Lancaster Minor Hockey. He was a leader in the Westfield Scouting Movement and a volunteer at the local food bank.

Allan is survived by his loving wife, Myrna (Lingley); sons Robert (Iris) and Doug (Dana); daughter Wendy Hansen (Stephen); step-children Doug, Kim, Mark, Jeff (Bev), Greg (Robin), Rose (Les), and Bev; grandchildren Rebecca, Nicholas, Matthew, Victoria, Justin, Sarah, Eric, Jennifer, Miranda, Tyler, Cody, Kassidy, Jonathan, Jessica, Kristyn, Courtney, Allison, Emily, Caley, Rebecca, Zachery, and Hailey; great-granddaughter Ottilia; sister-in-law Gwen.

Aside from his parents, Alan is predeceased by his brother Forest “Woody” and sister Martha Duncan (Douglas).

Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425). Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Due to current restrictions, we ask people to keep visits brief to allow others to come through as well. A private funeral service will be held Friday, January 15, 2021, at 1:00 PM. For those who wish, the funeral service will be live-streamed. Interment will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 12:00 PM in St. Peter's Cemetery (Woodman's Point). Donations in Allan’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the SPCA.
