Obituary of Dawn Rosamond Glover

It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a lifetime of memories that the family of Dawn R. Glover, beloved wife of the late Walter R. Glover, announces her passing which occurred on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in McAdam, NB on March 20, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Edison and Muriel (Boone) Haggerty.

Dawn dedicated her life to teaching, and in doing so helped to influence many people across New Brunswick. She started teaching in a one room schoolhouse near McAdam at the age of 17 and was younger than some of her students. Dawn fostered the confidence and creativity of her students by assisting with drama and variety shows. She retired from school district 8 after a long career that spanned several community schools.

Dawn loved to travel across Canada and the US, and was a member of both the Twin Seas and Fundy Drifters trailer clubs. During the past few years, she developed a great love for visiting the island of Barbados.

Dawn will be missed by her daughter Heather Saulnier (Eric); her great-grandson Aidan Hills and his mother Jody Sheldrick; a brother David Haggerty; sister-in-law, Marilyn Andrew; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Dawn was predeceased by her grandson David Hills.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visitation on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 2-5pm.
