Obituary of John Thomas Nutter

It is with broken hearts the family of John T. Nutter announces his passing on November 23, 2019. Born on June 15, 1945 in Welsford, NB, he was a son of the late John E. and Ada (Artes) Nutter.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Brenda Sullivan; sons: Kerry (Mary Beth), Stephen (Carol-Ann) both of Welsford, and Christopher (Tara) Of Waasis; stepsons: Terran (Jackie) Sullivan, and Devon Sullivan of Saint John; brother: Jim (Diane) Nutter of Welsford: grandchildren: Alexandria (Patrick) Toner of Shediac, Samantha Nutter of Saint John, Benjamin Nutter of Welsford, Matthew Nutter and Ashley Nutter of Grand Bay-Westfield; great grandchild: Annelie Toner; nephew: JR (Jamie) of Welsford; niece: Jaime (Dan) of Grand Bay-Westfield; great nephews: Cody, Evan, and Mike; great niece: Hannah; several members of extended family; and his beloved fur baby Keileidh.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his first wife Beverley.

John was first and foremost a family man. He loved his sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren so very much, and adored Brenda and his bonus family. If you were wanting to find John, you would only have to look as far as the garage or a chair in the house with Keileidh curled up in his lap. Second to his love for his family, John was a Long-Haul Trucker, owning and operating John T. Nutter Ltd. for 57 years. He had many hobbies and was at home in the great outdoors – be it fishing or boating. John was an upstanding parishioner of St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Welsford and volunteered for many activities. He was a passionate member of the NB Antique Auto Club which eventually lead him to the position of Area Director of the Fundy region. His work with them had him volunteering at the flea market in Sussex for many years. He was an avid collector and had four antique vehicles he would take to the car shows, two Prevost busses which he kept in his yard among his much loved “salvageables”. John was also a member of the motor home group the Perfect Circle Chapter, and he and Brenda had many adventures travelling to Zephyrhills, Florida. John loved bluegrass music and enjoyed spending time with friends going to festivals.

Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visiting on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM.
