Obituary of Joan Patricia Nice

 

It is with appreciation of a life well-lived and gratitude for many years of memories, that the family of Joan Nice, loving wife to the late Jerry Nice, announce her passing which occurred on Sunday, November 3 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home.  Born on December 11, 1927 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late William and Ellen (Doyle) Joyce.

 

Joan will be missed by her children: Marilyn (Edward) Foote, Arlene (David) Tufts, Malcolm (Linda) and Robert (Heather), her grandchildren: Jessica (Jake) Dyck, Shawn (Lindsay) Foote, Travis (Theresa) Tufts, Vicki (Tyson) Martin, Laura (Greg) Power, Bradley (Cait) Nice, Jeffrey, Matthew and Katelyn Nice, her 9 great grandchildren with another on the way, her sisters: Geraldine Snodgrass and Rose Marie Rogers, along with several nieces, nephews and members of her extended family.

 

Besides her parents, and husband Jerry, Joan was predeceased by her sister Theresa (Walter) Pitts.

 

Joan belonged to Westfield United Church and the former St. Giles United Church that she attended faithfully. Joan enjoyed bowling, playing cards, day trips to the Moncton Casino and cruises with her husband and sister Theresa.  She spent many summers at the camp on Digdeguash Lake with her children and grandchildren, fishing, playing phase 10 and boat rides. 

 

Joan’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of St. John and St. Stephen Home. The extraordinary care and compassion you showed, will not be forgotten.

 

Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) where family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, November 5 from 2-4 and 6-8.  The Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 6 at 2 PM from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
