William "John" Carlin

Obituary of William "John" Carlin

It is with love and gratitude for a lifetime of beautiful memories that the family of John Carlin announces his passing. John fought a courageous three year battle with cancer and was brave until the very end. He left this world surrounded by family and love on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Saint John Regional. Born in Saint John on June 24, 1949, he was a son of the late James and Martha (Mahaney) Carlin.

He will be missed by his children: Sean (Jennifer), Misty (Rob), Nicolle (Fenton), Heather, Jody-Lynn (Mike) and James “JR”; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his sisters, Bella (Hazen) and Gail; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a brother, James “Jimmy”.

As per John’s request there will not be a funeral service. Remember John with a smile. Tell “Johnny Boy” stories, toast his memory with spiced rum, and say hello to him whenever you cross the Reversing Falls Bridge which was one of his favourite places to go boating. Carry his memory in your heart.

John’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital’s Oncology unit and 5AS, and a special thank you to Dr. Reiman . Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425). Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
