Obituary of Daniel Edward Hogan

It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Edward Hogan announces his passing, which occurred on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Turnbull Nursing Home. Born in Petersville, N.B., formerly of Westfield, N.B., he was a son of the late James and Mary (Connors) Hogan. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Daniel was the caretaker at St. Augustine’s Cemetery for over 50 years, receiving the Bishop Dollard award for his service in the cemetery. He was a Carpenter and a handy man. His friends called him “Patch” because he could patch or repair just about anything.

Daniel is survived by his sisters-in-law Mary and Evelyn Hogan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Gertrude Breen (George), John Hogan (Mary), William Hogan (Edna), Margaret Hogan, Sr. Ethel Hogan S.C.I.C, James Hogan, Francis Hogan, Leo Hogan, and Evelyn Garland (Roy); as well as his nephew Joseph Hogan.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, with visitation on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
