Obituary of Edward "Buddy" Patrick George

It is with heavy hearts that the family of  Edward “Buddy” Patrick George, husband of Carolyn George of Grand Bay-Westfield, announces his passing, which occurred on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Bobby’s Hospice.  Born in Saint John, NB on September 24, 1944, he was the son of Edward J. and Margaret (Best) George.

Buddy was very proud of his family and home.  He was married to his beloved wife Carolyn for 53 years.  Buddy had an innate talent for building and creating – his work was impeccable.  Whether it was his home or his antique truck, reflections of his many talents were evident everywhere.  He enjoyed the various events associated with the Valley Cruisers and made many friends along the way.  He will be remembered for his sense of humour and his fairness to others, and will be missed by all who knew him.  He started his career with Irving Oil and moved on to the Saint John Fire Department before he made the decision to attend Holland College. After graduation he worked with the Grand Bay Police Force and retired from the RCMP (Firearms Division).

Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn (Wood); sons: Christopher and Jonathan George; grandchildren: Erin and Adam George; sister, Pat Jones (Gerald); sisters-in-law: Carla and Nancy; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Buddy was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Karie George and sister, Norma Whalen.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint john (634-7425).  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at River Valley Wesleyan Church, 45 Ridge Way, Grand Bay-Westfield from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11:00 am from River Valley Wesleyan Church.  Private interment will take place at a later date.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice  or River Valley Weslyan Church.
