Obituary of Helen Joyce Frawsel

The death of Helen (Curtis) Frawsel of Quispamsis, beloved wife of the late George Frawsel and the late Harold Curtis occurred peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward Wooldridge and Lillian (French) Vincent. Prior to her retirement, Helen was self-employed as a hairstylist for over fifty years. She was also a fifty year member of the Cosmetology Association of New Brunswick. Helen was an avid and well known mall walker and enjoyed participating with the Shannex Jubilee Singers. Most of all, she looked forward to the times spent with her granddaughters, family and friends. Helen will always be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Helen is survived by her sons, David Curtis (Carol) of Quispamsis, Richard Curtis (Valerie) of Saint John and Graeme Curtis (Tracey) of Quispamsis; sister Frances Middleton of Quispamsis; brothers, Roy Vincent (Constance) and Mel Vincent (Bette) all of Saint John; granddaughters, Rachel Curtis, Laura Curtis, Linda Curtis and Bonnie Bender (Jeff); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her step-father, George Vincent and brother-in-law, Arnold Middleton. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to World Vision would be appreciated by the family.
