Obituary of Genevieve Mary Cormier

With profound sadness and regret the family of Genna Cormier announce her death on Saturday, November 2, 2013. She was born on July 25, 1994 in Saint John to Janine Noël and A. Jason Cormier. Genna was a senior at Saint John High School with a bright future. She was a generous person with a kind heart and loved to help others. Genna’s goal was to graduate and become a social worker. She enjoyed dancing, photography and a passion for painting and writing. Genna has touched the lives of everyone who knew her and her loss will be felt forever by her family and friends. Besides her parents, Genna is survived by her brother, Michael Cormier of Saint John; half-sisters: Katie Noël and Hannah DeGrace both of Saint John; maternal grandparents: Mary and Tom Noël of Saint John; paternal grandparents: Don and Carole Cormier of Black River; step-father, John Hawkins; step-sisters: Mary and Jessica Hawkins; step-brother, William Hawkins; uncles: Travis Cormier (Marlene) and Justin Cormier (Heidi); aunts: Paula Noël (Tracey Lavigne) and Evelyn Magee (Hugh); first cousins: Marshall and Emily Cormier; good friends: Robyn Mason and Shanae Webb and several great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Black River. For those who wish remembrances to the Joshua Group would be appreciated by the family.
