Obituary of Ronald J. MacLeod

It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald J. MacLeod of Saint John announces his passing on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS on July 14, 1942, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Sinnot) MacLeod.Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughters, who brought him so much joy. Ron worked for Metropolitan Life for many years before moving on to work for Blue Cross and Estate Financial.Ron is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 47 years, Sandra (Pope) MacLeod; his loving daughters, Catherine of Charlottetown, PEI and Lindsay of Fredericton, NB; special granddaughters, Grace Marilee and Emma Lindsay; siblings, Beverly Gorveatt (Don), Gerard MacLeod (Marie), Michelle MacLeod and Krista MacLeod all of Charlottetown, PEI; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Nason (Merle) and brother-in-law, Robert Bruce Pope. Ron is predeceased by his parents and infant sister, Pamela.Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 12-1 pm at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 369 Main Street, Saint John, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Church Cemetery, 486 Kennebecasis River Road, Hampton. For those who wish, remembrances to the Cardiac Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital or St. Luke’s Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
