Obituary of Mary Patricia Williston

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Patricia "Pat" Williston, wife of Charles Williston, which occurred on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on December 9, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Ethel (Mahaney) DeBow. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by all. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. A kind and giving friend, Pat enjoyed quilting, playing bingo and a good game of cards especially rumoli and was a Life Master of Contract Bridge. She retired from UNBSJ in 1996. She is survived by her dedicated husband of 52 years, Charley; five children, Cheryl Luck of Saint John; Rick (Sharyl) of Quispamsis; Beth (Brian Martin) of Toronto; Joe of Saint John and Mary Allison (Jon LeBlanc) of Quispamsis; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) McNulty, Adam Williston, Shannon and David Luck, Dylan Williston, Ryan and Matthew Williston, Will and Claire Martin; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Charley McNulty; four sisters, Pearl (Bill) McKay, Shirley (Tom) McGovern, Norma Richardson and Ann Hughes; one brother, William (Andrea) DeBow; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son, David; her parents; sister, Bette and brother, Douglas. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, April 23, 2012 and Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from St. Peter’s Church at 10:00 am. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances placed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
