Obituary of Sandee Lynn Hicks-Moore

With her loving family at her side the death of Sandee Hicks-Moore, wife of Scott Moore occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 17, 2013. She was born on July 11, 1965 in Montreal, QC to Norman and Sheila Hicks. Sandee graduated from Saint John High School. She received her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Dalhousie University, her Master of Nursing from UNB Fredericton and PhD in Education from UNB Fredericton. She was currently working as an Associate Professor of Nursing at UNBSJ. Sandee served on the ARCASN executive as secretary and interim president. She was a member of the Katie Hazen Mackay IODE Chapter and was serving on the Board of Directors at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. Besides her husband and parents, Sandee is survived by her daughter, Robyn; step-daughter, Jennifer Moore and her daughter, Jamelia of Saint John; brother, Randy Hicks (Lisa) and their daughter, Grace of Rhode Island; several aunts, uncles, cousins and two great-uncles. The family wishes to thank Dr. Burnell and the In Patient and Out Patient Nurses and Staff of 5A South and the Oncology Department for the extraordinary care Sandee received during her stay. Sandee’s family would like to thank their family, friends and colleagues for their kindness and support thoughtout her illness. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at Main Street Baptist Church on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date. Charitable donations may be made to IODE New Brunswick, Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
