Obituary of Marjorie Helen Hickey

Suddenly in her 97th year, Marjorie Hickey, wife of the late James L. Hickey passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. She was born on February 24, 1916 in Saint John to the late John and Annie (Cullinan) Bain. Marjorie worked as a cashier for NBTel for many years until her retirement. She was a member and volunteer of Holy Trinity Church, CWL, Irish Society, NBTel Pioneers and was an active member of the Liberal Party of Canada. Marjorie had a zest for life, loved to travel and enjoyed the company of friends. She was the beloved mother of: Patricia "Pat" Tschannen (Ed) of Toronto, ON and James "Jim" Hickey of Saint John and loving granny to Catherine Tschannen. Marjorie is also survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rita Estabrooks; dear niece, Ann Oliver and infant brother, John Patrick Bain. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). There will be no formal visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road on Monday, August 19, 2013 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
