Obituary of Dorothy Mae Barry

The death of D. Mae Barry, wife of the late Gerard Barry, occurred on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 14, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Bertha Lawrence. Mae is survived by three daughters; Jane of Saint John, Joan (Michael) Joyce, and Patricia (Gordon) Rose, both of Dartmouth, NS. Mae is also survived by three grandchildren; Robert (Anne-Marie) Joyce, Peter (Sherri) Rose, and Lauren (Jay) Russell, five great-grandchildren; Abby, William, Trey, Alexander and Leah, two sisters; Fanny (Donald) Hanlon and Bertie Doyle; both of Saint John, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mae was pre-deceased by two sisters; Marjorie Coholan and Violet Fairweather, as well as a brother, Harold Lawrence. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 14th at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
