Obituary of Florence Mary Richard

The death of Florence Richard of Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John and formerly of Quispamsis, wife of the late Clarence Richard, occurred Thursday, March 7, 2013, at her home. Born in Saint John on November 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Melvina (Legacy) Doucette. Florence is survived by her children, Blenda Jensen of Saint John, Cynthia Allen (Richard) and Dereck (Carro), all of Rothesay; grandchildren, Emily and Jeana Richard, Tammy Symons, Lisa Barrett, Tina and Kristen Jensen, Kimberley and Christopher Daye; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Mallory, Alyson, Hope, Stephen, Caleb, Michael, Ashley and Grace; as well as great-great-grandson, Brayden. Florence was predeceased by her son, Alfred and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Florence was a spiritual woman who took great comfort in her faith. Her love and commitment to her husband and to her family was always strong. Florence always held a special place in her heart for music. She was a faithful member of St. Mark's Parish and member of the Coffee House Girls. The Richard family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Birch Lane at the Villa for the exceptional care that was provided to Florence. The support and concern shown towards her and our family will never be forgotten. In keeping with Florence's wishes, no visitation will be held. However, relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 10:00 AM. A reception will immediately follow the Mass, in the church hall. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John. Arrangements are under of care and direction of Brenan's' Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424). For those who wish, donations may be made to the Kennebecasis Valley Food Basket or to a charity of the donor's choice. Online donations and condolences may be made at: www.BrenansFH.com
