Obituary of Joseph Clarence Guitard

The death of Joseph "Hobie" C. Guitard of Quispamsis, NB, occurred on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 13, 1941, in Belledune, NB, Canada, he was a son of the late Henry and Gladys Guitard. Hobie served his country in the Canadian Armed Forces for over 30 years, retiring in 1995 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Hobie enjoyed golf, exercising at the gym, Sunday afternoon football, and spending time with his grandchildren. Hobie is lovingly remembered by his children, Dwanne (Laurie) of Saint John, Tanya (Aaron) of Saint John, Darren of North Bay, Onatrio; six grandchildren, Brett, Jeffrey, Alicia, Lauren, Heather, and Cote; four sisters, Doris Dempster (Harry), Eunice Patterson (Robert), Adeline Moriarty (Charlie) and Theresa Beechum; one brother, Joe Guitard; several nieces and nephews. Hobie was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Donald Beechum. In keeping with Hobie’s wishes there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. There will be a Celebration of Life held at Bleachers on Saturday, February 23, 2013, starting at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
