Obituary of Elizabeth Lee Margaris

Elizabeth Margaris, wife of the late James D. Margaris passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 5, 2012. She was born on February 14, 1936 in Moncton, NB to the late Oscar and Mary (Hachey) Allain. Elizabeth was presently the owner and CEO of Dream Catcher Publishing. She has been a local entrepreneur for over 50 years including owning the Bell, Book & Candle and the Windjammer Restaurant She was active in the Saint John Art Community, including being a chair for the Canterbury Tales Literary Festival as well as the founder of the NB Consortium of Writers. Elizabeth was a member of the University Women’s Club and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Elizabeth is survived by her children: Tina Margaris (John) of Orangeville, ON, Taffy Margaris of Toronto, ON and James Margaris (Lisa) of Saint John; grandchildren: Brooke, Dimitri and Darius. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Roger Allain. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 12:05 pm. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Symphony New Brunswick Inc. would be appreciated by the family.
