Obituary of Sophia Mae Arbeau

Arbeau, Sophia Mae … The passing of Sophia Mae Arbeau of Red Head, NB, wife of the late John Henry Arbeau, occurred on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at her residence. Born in Saint John, NB on May 10, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Georgie (King) Spragg. Survived by two sons, Vern M. (Florence) Garnett of Red Head and Vincent (Betty) Garnett of Ladysmith, BC; four grandchildren, Tristan Garnett of Saint John, Scott Garnett, John Garnett and Corinna Stead, all three of BC; three sisters, Velma (Alfred) Attoe of Erb’s Settlement, NB, Joan (Irason) Ross of Fredericton, NB and Louise Briggs of Saint John; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband Sophie was pre-deceased by two brothers, Joseph Spragg and infant Arthur Spragg; grand-daughter, Colleen Garnett. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a RCL Auxiliary Service at 7 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 3:30 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Romero House, Pro-Kids, District 8 Celebrate What’s Right in the World Program and Cherry Brook Zoo.
