Obituary of Florence M. Burley

Burley, Florence M. – The death of Florence Marion Burley of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Gordon Burley, occurred on Tuesday, December 4, 2007. Born in Saint John on May 20, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Lelia (Pender) McCaughan. Florence was a life long member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Main St. and the ACW. Survived by sons, Thomas (Betsy Colwell) of Saint John and Wayne (Suzanne Bonnell) of Fredericton, NB; daughters: Beth (Dan) Williams of Lower Sackville, NS, Faye Burley (Roger Jones) of Dartmouth, NS and Jill (Scott) Kean of Victoria, BC; grandchildren: Scott, Kate, Jon, Melissa, Tristan, Erik, Nicholas and Alexander; great-granddaughter, Ali; sisters-in-law: Leota McCaughan, Irene Griffin, Connie Noyes; brother-in-law, Herb Long; several nieces and nephews, and dear friend, Jean Hatfield. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon in 1991; sisters: Kay Long, Anna Long, Norah and Elizabeth McCaughan and brothers: Robert, William and Archie McCaughan. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 2:15 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to any charity of choice.
