Obituary of Mary Constance Dryden

DRYDEN, MARY CONSTANCE – The death of Connie Dryden of Bedell Ave, Saint John, NB, wife of John “Jack” Dryden, occurred on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Alice (Byron) Gallant. Connie’s passion in life was spending time with her loving family, both at home and at their cottage in Loch Lomond. She was a lifelong resident of Saint John and a member of St. Vincent’s Alumni. Besides her husband, Jack, to whom she was married 58 years, she is also survived by her son, John Dryden of Toronto, ON, daughters; Alice Jardine (Glen) of Saint John and Elizabeth McLean (Scott) of Cornwall, ON, sisters; Claire Collins (Frank) of Saint John, Ruth Gallagher of Saint John and Nancy McLaughlin (Bill) of Chapel Grove, NB, grandchildren; Jonathan and Sarah Jardine and Carter and Jack McLean and Siobhan Dryden-O’Connor, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her brother, Byron Gallant. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick.
