Obituary of Mildred A. Welch

Welch, Mildred A. The death of Mildred Welch, wife of the late Alfred E. Welch, occurred on Monday, April 2, 2007 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born at Belyea’s Cove, NB, on December 14, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Myles and Myrtle (Brown) MacDonald. Family, friends and church were at the center of her life. She was a longtime member of Edith Avenue United Baptist Church where she belonged to the Women’s Missionary Society and the Ladies Aid. She was gifted in many areas including oil painting and handiwork. Surviving are her sons Milton and his wife Joanne of Saint John, Blair and his wife Suzanne of Rothesay, brothers Alfred MacDonald and George MacDonald and his wife Peggy, all of Belyea’s Cove, sisters Hazel King of Saint John, Marjorie Gray of Midland, Josephine Coleman of Quispamsis, grandchildren Susan Nairn and her husband John, Jason Welch, Neil Welch, Marianne Hanson and her husband David, Brent Welch and his wife Karla, great-grandchildren Courtney, Jacqueline, Matthew, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Jimmy and Jenna and many nieces and nephews. Her sisters Florence, Edith, Bernice and Ada and grandson Christopher predeceased her. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 11:00 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place at the Belyea’s Cove Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
