Obituary of Kenneth Scott Churchill

Wrapped in the comforting arms of his wife, surrounded by his children and family members, Kenneth (Kenny) Churchill peacefully passed on July 7, 2014 at Bobby’s Hospice the place he loved and called home for the past 10 months. Kenny was born in Yarmouth NS on Jan 5, 1961, the 4th son of the late Clayton and Glenice (Williams) Churchill. Kenny was a member of the Saint John Policeman Protective Association working as a City of Saint John Police Officer for 24 years before retiring as Sargent in October 2012 due to his illness. Kenny was a drummer and founding member of the Country Blues Band, a band made up of law enforcement officers who traveled around NB and NS playing at events like Cops for Cancer, Festival by the sea, appearing on CTV Breakfast television, and attending local schools, raising money for community charities. Kenny and his wife also owned and operated the Company Aeroshuttle Motorcoach Charters, providing services throughout the eastern parts of Canada and the USA. Kenny was a man of faith, a kind generous caring man, he loved his wife and children more than words could explain. He always thought of others before himself and would never complain about any of his troubles or his illness. He was a proud police officer, with so much to offer with his wisdom and his very sensible way of handling chaos. Kenny loved and respected all of the staff at Bobby’s Hospice and they loved and respected him, they were family. Kenny is survived by his wife Brenda (Gower) Churchill, his son Brandon of Quispamsis, his daughter Lauren of Rothesay, his stepsons Jeffery (Melissa) Mortimer, Jason (Melissa) Mortimer, Jonathan (Amber) Mortimer of Saint John, his brothers Timothy, Peter (Rachelle), Randy (Charlotte), Allison (Claudette), Robin (Beth), his sister Carrie (Darrin) McGrath all of NS, and his precious step grandson Jayden Mortimer who he adored; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
