Obituary of Wilmot Nathaniel Brenan

The death of Wilmot Nathaniel Brenan occurred on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Kennebec Manor. He was born on May 30, 1934 in Saint John, New Brunswick. Wilmot was the only son of the late Frederick Kenneth and Ruth Aline (Linton) Brenan. Wilmot attended Rothesay Collegiate School and then joined the family funeral firm N.W. Brenan and Sons from where he retired. He was a recognized world expert in band music and a former member of St. Mary’s Band. Wilmot was a member of the Church of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement. He is survived by cousins: Christine Whelly (Charles "Chip") of Rothesay, Sylvia MacVey (Andy) of Passekeag, Grant Brenan (Faith) of Rothesay, and Fred Brenan (Shari) of Sussex; eleven second cousins; and special friends, Sylvie and Colin Crabbe and their sons, Christopher and Geoffrey of Grand Bay-Westfield. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 11:00 am until the service. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 1:00 p m, with Rev. Dr. Philip Lee officiating. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph, ON in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
