Obituary of Margaret Marie Tobias

Surrounded by her family the death of Margaret Tobias, wife of the late Louis Tobias occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 23, 2014. She was born on September 27, 1915 in Pokemouche to the late Xavier Hachey and Lucille (Mazerolle) (Hachey) Blanchard. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she devoted her life to her family. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing a competitive game of cards. She is survived by her daughter, Penny Christie (Clifford) of Saint John; sons: Joseph "Butch" (Kay) of Bowmanville, ON, and Gary (Darlene) and Malcolm "Mac" (Becky) both of Saint John; grandchildren: Darryl (Robin), Deanna (Joe), Michael (Carol-Ann), Cheryl, Natasha (Francis), Khouri, Samantha (Donna), Ashley (Tom), Danielle, Evan, Forrest; sisters: Phyllis Rickard and Jessie McMinniman (Carl); brothers: Ernest (June) and Albert (Kay) Blanchard; sister-in-law, Norma Hachey and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, birth parents, step-father, Joe Blanchard; brothers: Frank and Camille Hachey; sisters: Emily Arsenault, Reginé Caissie and Kathleen Bastarache and several step-siblings. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday from 6-8 pm and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 12:05 pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to a Saint John Food Bank or Hestia House would be appreciated by the family.
