Obituary of Charles Robert Cox

Charles Robert Cox passed away on March 5, 2015 at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 18, 1929 he was the son of the late Gerald and Mary "Winnifred" Cox. Charles and Glenna resided at Chateau De Champlain, Saint John. Charles was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was an avid curler and was a past member of St. Andrews and later Thistle St. Andrew’s Curling Club and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Glenna; children, Robert (Patricia) Cox, Saint John; Beth Lessard, ON; Margaret "Peggy" (Paul) Cooper, Kingston; Marijane (John) Ridgeway, Ottawa; brother-in-law, Doug (Barb) Anderson; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Marjorie McCarthy; Barbara Ring and Ruth Richardson. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 am from the Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
