Obituary of Inez Eleanora Nordin

The death of Inez Nordin wife of the late Olaf Wilhelm Nordin occurred on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1916 in Mahaska, AB to the late Gordon and Hilma (Neilson) Robinson. She and her husband worked on their farm in Northern Alberta for many years, and then Inez was matron of a lodge in High Prairie. She was the happiest when cooking, knitting, crocheting and reading her books. A highlight was a Harley Davidson motorcycle ride on her 96th birthday. She was a member of St. John Baptist (Mission) and St. Clement Church and St. Monica’s Guild. Inez is survived by her daughter, Penny Fairweather (Bob) of Saint John; sister, Marion Phillips of Springhill, FL; grandsons: Brent (Donna) of Saint John and Brad (Angie) of Moncton; great-grandchildren: Madison, Andrew and Danielle; two-great-great-grandchildren and numerous relatives in the western provinces. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Arthur and sister, Ethel. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). By her request there will be no formal visitation. The Funeral Service will be held from St. John Baptist (Mission) and St. Clement Church, 815 Millidge Avenue on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Alberta at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to St. John Baptist (Mission) and St. Clement Church would be appreciated by the family.
