Obituary of Barbara Harriet Dryer

Surrounded by her loving family, Barbara "Barb" Harriet (Dahlbom) Dryer, wife of 62 years to Daniel "Dan" Dryer, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on September 29, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Ebba (Brink) Dahlbom. Barbara met Dan at Providence Bible College. Together, they moved with their family to New Brunswick. Barbara had a profound Christian faith that began in her childhood and informed her entire life. She used her gifts of music, storytelling, creativity, and hospitality to enrich the lives of so many people. She had a great sense of humour and was always ready with a joke. Wherever they lived, their home was always a welcome haven for friends and strangers alike. She will be greatly missed. Besides her husband, Daniel, Barb is survived by her 5 children: Steve (Diane Ring), Jim (Linda More), Wayne (Kathy Jamieson), Karen (John Knight), and Cindy (Paul Mosey); grandchildren: Amy (Aaron Jenson), Kristina (Nick Oriold), Bradley, Bruce, Jodi (Dan Buss), Ben, Jonathan, Kya, and Kirsten; and great-grandchildren: Olivia and Violet. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424, with visiting on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 1 PM at RiverCross Church, 61 Forbes Drive. Interment will take place at a later date. Remembrances to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
