Obituary of Constance Giggey

The death of Constance Giggey of Embassy Hall, Quispamsis, wife of the late William H. Giggey, occurred on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at her residence. Born in Saint John on May 4, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (McCook) Brown. Constance graduated from Saint John High School in 1940 and successfully continued her education at Modern Business College. She was a faithful member of the Church of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement, where she participated in the Ladies Alter Guild. Constance enjoyed curling and had been an active member of the Thistle-St. Andrews Curling Club. She also enjoyed her time volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Constance is survived by her children, Jane Bird (Terry), Richard Giggey (Elizabeth), Beth Ritchie and Joanna Milner; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
