Obituary of Bernard Patton Wilson

With his family at his side the death of Bernard Wilson, husband of Nora Faye Wilson occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. He was born on May 12, 1927 in Carleton County to the late Lemuel and Jenny (McDougall) Wilson. Bernard was a member of CUPE Local #213 Welders and Pipefitters for over 60 years, working on various projects in New Brunswick and the United States. The family has many great memories of traveling with their dad in The United States while he worked there. Bernard was in the Canadian Army and was posted in Utopia, New Brunswick and Debert, Nova Scotia during World War II. Bernard is survived by his wife Nora of over 66 years; children: Sharon Brewer (John) and Marlene McAuley (Roger) both of Saint John; Dennis Wilson (Marilyn) of Kentville, NS and Dawn Wilson of Saint John; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sons: Claude and Dale; sisters: Evelyn, Marjorie, Hilda, Laura and Lillian and brothers: Gordon, Harry and Alfred. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, February 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Children’s Wish Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
